Background

After 3.5 decades of entrepreneurial ventures, including starting, building, buying and selling businesses, we decided it was time to focus on investing in other ventures.

We are currently investing in the following areas:

• Natural Resources: Admittedly our favorite category, we love an underlying supply/demand imbalance in which the natural resource market is particularly well known. 

• Precious Metals: As long as central banks continue printing money and devaluing currencies, precious metals and precious metals miners keep us interested.

• Energy: In addition to uranium, we like the cyclicality of the oil and gas market.

• Private Credit: Increasingly we're finding smaller, high growth companies that prefer private credit as a funding mechanism. 

• Commercial Real Estate: We've been buying and renovating commercial buildings since the 1980's. It's fun and generates nice returns in a favorable market environment. 

• Small Businesses / Startups: These have a special place in our hearts. Given the risk, we invest using convertible debentures.
